Creating healing and transformative healthcare environments

Connection Across the Nation

Healing by Design

Community Relationships

Mainline Health Pediatrics - Philadelphia, PA

Mainline wanted to implement a pediatrics program that would combine learning, play and the opportunity to interact with patients in a more creative way. From the activity and game sheet patients receive at check in, to the visual puzzle art with different themes in each room, to the cloud shaped animals above patient beds, this project invokes the senses and connects to many ages. The result is a whimsical experience in every patient room.

Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children - New Castle, DE

Each floor was studied to determine the best fit of art based on the department to ensure each design would aid in the healing process, reduce stress, and create a comfortable environment. Some floors incorporated art that would require a patient to walk or called for using small motor skills. Some were specifically created to gently test the mind and some were created to initiate play. Even though every floor had its own goals, we supported each one by implementing an art program that would was not only healing, but memorable and fun for families and staff alike.

The Vistas at Willow Valley - Willow Street, PA

To connect the design and the built environment in an interesting, layered format, we commissioned modern pieces with rich finishes and multitudes of details that would attract residents and guests. The artwork had depth, vibrancy, and movement and created the feeling of being a holiday. Subtle reminders of “life lived forward” are reassuring, motivational, and inspirational. Choosing to work with modern pieces provides the ability to pause and engage in a memory or thought.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help you be great. We work with you to construct spaces that are beautiful, nurturing, and sophisticated. Whether it is a piece of art or a full design project, we create a relaxed and positive experience through superior artistic placement. Using EDAC methodology (Evidence Based Design), we help ensure that your clients and patients will have a better experience and outcome. The evidence shows that the thoughtful design and construction of holistic spaces improves safety, quality, operational performance, and user satisfaction.

Our People

Our people help realize your vision. We do this by conducting interviews and regularly coordinating with designers, architects, department heads, and decision-makers.  Our  goal is to create an immersive space that will forge a positive and healing experience for your patients.

As a community-building organization, we also go to great lengths to employ local artists, vendors and other resources.  This helps ensure your patients will feel at home when they visit your spaces.

Highlighted Projects

Allow us to reimagine your interior space through our passion for exceptional and healing artistry.

Atlantic General Hospital - Berlin, MD

We worked with a variety of artists in a variety of mediums for this project. We added multiple substrates, dimensional and sculptural pieces and worked closely with the artist, architect, and designer to ensure that certain pieces were created specifically to work with natural light or tied to the project in a powerful yet organic way. We worked closely with the team at Atlantic General to make sure every selected work would feel holistic within the space and promote wellness.

Christiana Care Women's and Children's Building - Smyrna, DE

Having art that was tactile but easy to clean was a must. Every aspect of what we did on each floor had to have purpose and connection. We were able to create custom vinyl for the reception desk and columns by collecting items from the surrounding estuary and incorporating them with watercolor. We created lighting that would soothe and distract while families waited within dychoric film on glass. Each floor was based around different areas of Delaware, adding subtle touches of familiarity and comfort.

Hershey Pediatric Center - Hershey, PA

The designer wanted us to be very exact and had a vision that needed to be brought to life. This was a children’s hospital so we needed to be well planned, super safe, and efficient. We sealed off the area we needed to spray paint and did so in a very small amount of time and space. We worked at odd hours (2-5am) to be as out of sight as possible. The patients and staff have a design that works perfectly in the space and initiates healing for the entire community.

The road to connection is paved by design, and our soothing, carefully crafted environments are inspired by the ideals and tastes of the surrounding communities we work in. We strive to make every facility not only feel like a representation of the local community but an extension of its people and their qualities.

Children's Healthcare

Creating environments that offer comfort and healing during stressful experiences is Madison Art’s greatest aspiration, and nowhere is that more important than at children’s healthcare facilities. Our mission isn’t just to nurture or distract but to foster creativity and excitement that allows children to connect emotionally with their healthcare providers.

Eldercare

Fostering a sense of freedom and independence is crucial to our Eldercare industry projects. We connect with each local community we work within, and at the forefront of that effort is fostering healing and peacefulness that relates to older generations.
